Opposing the reorganization of the constituencies, a crucial meeting was held on Saturday in Chennai by DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Invitations were extended to political parties from all South Indian states. DMK ministers and MPs ensured that invitations reached the leaders of those parties. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy from Telangana’s ruling Congress party is personally attending this meeting. He departed from Shamshabad for Chennai on Friday evening. Telangana’s BRS Working President KTR is also attending the meeting.
The BRS, Telangana’s main opposition party, welcomed Stalin’s meeting. KTR had already announced that they would attend the meeting. However, he had stated earlier that they would announce who would attend the meeting later. As the meeting time approached, KTR decided to attend personally. He boarded the flight to Chennai directly from Shamshabad Airport on Friday night, accompanied by party leaders Jagadish Reddy, Vinod Kumar, and Niranjan Reddy.
In this meeting, aimed at giving a stronger voice to the South Indian states at the Centre, KTR and Revanth are expected to be the main attractions. Both have held significant positions at a young age, and their political rivalry has been intense. While they often exchange sharp words, it is surprising to see them come together on a crucial issue, both with the same stance, reinforcing the idea that they will indeed be the special attractions of the meeting on Saturday.
