It has been nearly 15 months since the formation of the new Congress government in Telangana. This has now called for a cabinet expansion under the leadership of chief minister Revanth Reddy.
Principally there are 6 vacancies in the Telangana Cabinet ranks, and four of them are going to be filled very soon. Reportedly chief minister Revanth Reddy has completed a crucial meeting in this regard in Delhi.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and senior leaders held key meetings in Delhi on Monday with AICC leaders Mallikarjuna Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and KC Venugopal, finalizing the inclusion of four new ministers into the cabinet.
Reportedly, the names that are under serious consideration include Srihari Mudiraj (Mahbubnagar), Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy (Nalgonda), Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy (Adilabad), and Sudarshan Reddy (Nizamabad). Party insiders say these selections reflect promises made during the elections.
The positions of deputy speaker and chief whip are going to be left vacant for the time being as the Congress High command is considering the fulfilling of just four of these six cabinet positions for the time being.
In particular, Rajagopal Reddy is very eager and hopeful of getting a place in the cabinet as he referred to this aspect multiple times in the assembly already. He has quarrel with BRS leaders in the assembly over this matter multiple times in recent past.
If Rajagopal Reddy does end up getting the cabinet position, then it would mean that both the KomariReddy brothers would be a part of the Telangana cabinet. Gaddam Vivek could be another crucial inclusion in the cabinet, if at all, this is finalised.
