It has been nearly 300 days since the completion of the Andhra Pradesh election and it needs to be said that YCP is still in dilution about the reason behind their dialogical performance in the same. Let alone assessing the reasons behind the defeat, the party is still of the opinion that EVMs were tampered and that’s why they lost the polls.
The same can be understood if we look at the latest statement issued by ex MLA from Raptadu, Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy. He confidently said in front of the media that the only reason Paritala Sunitha won this constituency is due to EVMs.
“The only reason why Sunitha won the election last year is due to EVMs. That is the reason why she is not stepping out in the public because she does not value the common folk and has her loyalties with EVMs. She is thinking, there is no need for her to be with the public as she has enough money to buy EVMs.” Prakash Reddy said.
This again exposes the fact that YCP is in clear dilution about the electoral mandate that was delivered by the people of Andhra Pradesh in 2024. Conveniently pushing the blame on EVM is not going to serve them any better either.
Fundamental point that is being pointed out by TDP supporters is that YCP appeared to be forgetting that they won the 2019 election with the very same EVMs. Moreover, in this case, Prakash Reddy is conveniently ignoring the fact that the Raptadu constituency has historically been with the family, and there is no surprise in Sunitha winning the election either.
