Earlier, when Revanth Reddy took charge as the chief minister of Telangana, he made it very clear that he will be cracking down on drug trade and peddling activities. In tune, with this, he amped up the drug control and testing activities, and also increased surveillance on drug peddling. This showed positive effects as the number of drug busts have gone down considerably.
Now the chief minister is focused on another antisocial activity, and this is regarding the burning topic of online betting and gambling application applications.
Revanth Reddy addressed this topic in the Assembly today and implied that he is going to come down heavily on such gambling applications and websites.
“These betting sites and applications are not to be taken lightly. We are going to crack down on these platforms and those who are behind them. We are going to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) preferably with CBCID officials or some reputed government authorities. There will be for action against such activities, and that is for sure. We are going to eradicate this online betting culture in Telangana.” The CM stated.
It can be noted that several celebrities came under the radar for endorsing, gambling activities and the authorities even booked 19 betting site operators in this case. With the chief minister himself being so particular and persuasive about adequate action, it shouldn’t be long before this detrimental culture gets eradicated from Telangana. It is going to be a long but eventually rewarding process.
