As we reported earlier, the Telangana assembly sessions are unfolding with both entertainment and intensity. This trend continued today as well. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS Working President KTR engaged in a few interesting exchanges today.
Revanth Reddy spoke about the revenge politics of KCR and his BRS government, referring to the time when he was jailed in 2015.
“When I was held in jail, and my daughter was getting married, they didn’t even want me to be at my daughter’s event. When I applied for anticipatory bail, the KCR government brought lawyers from Delhi to cancel it. But luckily, the court granted me interim bail, and I could spend 2 hours with my family while my daughter was getting engaged. I spent 16 sleepless nights in that jail. Now, tell me, who is practicing revenge politics?” Revanth Reddy said.
Following this emotional statement from Revanth Reddy, it was BRS Working President KTR who had a quick response, and he showed no remorse.
“Did you (Revanth) go to jail for participating in some freedom struggle or agitation? You went to jail because you got caught with bags of money. And on top of that, after you became the chief minister, you sent drones to my house. Would you remain silent and calm if someone else sent drones into your house to take pictures of your family members? In fact, I myself went to Warangal prison during the Telangana agitation, as I was jailed then. You’re not the only one who went to jail,” KTR stated.
All in all, today’s Telangana assembly session took an interesting turn, with both Revanth Reddy and KTR sharing their jail stories in the house.
