One of the most significant complaints against the previous YSR Congress government in Andhra Pradesh is the questionable liquor policy and the financial transactions associated with it. The Andhra Pradesh CID has started to take strong action against those involved in this liquor policy, and the issue has now reached YCP MP Peddireddy Midhun Reddy.
Earlier, Midhun Reddy approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court for anticipatory bail in connection with this liquor scam case that is being pursued by AP CID officials. However, the High Court rejected his anticipatory bail petition, noting that his name was not found in the earlier records.
A day after the Andhra Pradesh High Court rejected the anticipatory bail petition, Midhun Reddy came under the radar of Andhra Pradesh CID officials. According to the latest media reports, AP CID officials have arrived in Delhi today, possibly to arrest Midhun Reddy, who has been staying in Delhi in his capacity as an MP.
Midhun Reddy is being seen by the CID as the principal perpetrator in the liquor scam. The allegation is that the previous government committed severe financial fraud in the liquor scam, which cost the state exchequer a substantial amount of excise revenue. Midhun Reddy is likely to be held responsible for the scam, and the latest development regarding CID’s activity in Delhi implies the same.
