Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has accused former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of corruption, sharing RTI documents that show he spent a staggering Rs 29.56 crore on the maintenance of his official bungalow between 2015 and 2022. According to the documents, the daily maintenance cost of the bungalow came to about Rs 1 lakh.
Sachdeva raised questions about why such a large amount was spent on basic maintenance work like repairs, sewage, electricity, and structural fixes at the bungalow in Civil Lines, north Delhi. He called this extravagant spending a sign of either a lavish lifestyle or potential corruption. He pointed out that the amount spent on annual maintenance—around Rs 3.69 crore—was unusually high, especially when compared to the cost of building a new bungalow in Delhi.
He also criticized Kejriwal for not addressing these concerns publicly since his defeat in the Delhi elections, urging him to clarify the spending. Sachdeva further criticized AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who is facing a CBI probe in the liquor scam, and called for further investigations into alleged corruption in the education sector.
