YCP leader and former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi has once again been sent to remand, as per the latest verdict from the Vijayawada court. As already known, he is currently a remand prisoner in the Vijayawada jail. His previous remand term ended on Wednesday, following which the police presented him before the CID court in Vijayawada. After reviewing the case details, the court decided to extend his remand.
With this, Vamsi will remain in jail for another 14 days. The case stems from an attack on the TDP office in Gannavaram, Krishna district, that occurred between 2021–22. During the incident, vehicles were damaged, and furniture worth lakhs was reportedly destroyed. Based on a complaint by TDP worker Satyavardhan, cases were registered against YCP leaders, particularly against Vamsi’s followers.
Additionally, another case was filed alleging that Satyavardhan was kidnapped and threatened. Vamsi is currently in remand in connection with this kidnapping case. The CID has taken the Gannavaram case seriously and has begun its investigation. Last month, the court initially granted a 14-day remand in this case. Alongside Vamsi, nine of his followers were arrested and are facing similar charges. Recently, the CID court extended their remand until the 23rd of this month.
