After winning the Dubbak bypolls though with a wafer-thin majority of 1,075 votes, the BJP is keen on winning the Tirupati Lok Sabha bypolls in Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, the BJP had won even the Bihar Assembly elections recently.
Buoyed by these election results, BJP is eyeing the Tirupati bypolls. Party Andhra Pradesh in-charge Sunil Deodhar, while addressing the party cadre in Tirupati, has even declared that the BJP would clinch the LS seat in the bypolls. He went on to say that people of various sections in the society were happy with the administration of Modi and hence, were voting for the BJP in all the polls. Deodhar’s invigorating words, aimed at encouraging the cadre, had really surprised the party functionaries when he almost declared that their victory was almost certain.
The BJP seems to be very eager to launch its campaign for the bypolls necessitated with the sudden demise of sitting MP B. Durga Prasad of the YSRC. Durga Prasad won the Lok Sabha seat with a majority of 2.28 lakh votes in 2019 but succumbed to illness some time ago.
Recently, the BJP won in Dubbak bypoll in Telangana and it is very eager to repeat the same in Tirupati. In fact, the BJP broke into the strong bastion of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti in Dubbak and the party leaders are busy chalking out strategies to win over the voters in Tirupati.
According to party sources, the party leaders are busy identifying the candidates and recommend the names to the central leadership.
During his speech, Sunil Deodhar made a scathing attack on the ruling YCP and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He spoke of desecration of temples and forcible conversions.
