Ever since Pawan Kalyan rushed to Delhi yesterday evening to meet the bigwigs of the BJP, there has been a strong speculation in media and political circles that Janasena Party is aspiring for Tirupati Lok Sabha seat as part of the alliance. As Pawan Kalyan has withdrawn the party’s candidates from the GHMC polls and announced full support to the BJP and in all likely to campaign for the BJP in the coming days, Pawan is rumoured to be wanting Tirupati MP seat. Buzz is that Pawan wants to field a strong candidate from Janasena in Tirupati by-election with the support of BJP.
Sources said that the Pawan, along with the party political affairs committe chairman, Nadendla Manohar, had gone to Delhi to ask the BJP to leave the Tirupati LS seat to them.
It is strongly speculated that Pawan would brief the BJP leaders about how Chiranjeevi won the Tirupati MLA seat contesting with Praja Rajyam ticket, after launching the party in 2008. Pawan is also likely to tell the BJP leaders that the Jana Sena too has the support of a specific community in Tirupati, which the party wants to turn into votes.
However, there are doubts if the BJP, which feels that it has a strong base in Tirupati constituency, would leave it for the Jana Sena following Pawan’s request. Since BJP too keen on winning a Lok Sabha seat from AP as its tally in AP is zero, it is not easy for Pawan to convince the BJP’s top brass. If Pawan gets nod from BJP on Tirupati Lok Sabha seat, this will be Janasena’s first moral victory for sure.
