Ever since the Janata curfew on 22 March and the following lockdown from 23 March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been receiving a lot of flak for his decisions. Though there are a considerable amount of people who supported his move in these difficult times, we have also seen half of the population criticizing his stride amid the lockdown.

While the whole world is lauding India’s way of fighting against coronavirus and the lockdown procedures, a few in India showed discontentment in the government’s decisions. However, a good number of people have defended Modi especially when anti-group called as poorly planned lockdowns.

The praises and accolades to Modi during lockdown:

A particular age group (above the 40s) have loved the way, Modi asked us to claps hands and make some pleasant noises in order to appreciate and thank doctors for their hard work in treating the novel virus. Especially old age group have maturely opined that when people are hitting and pelting stones on health care professionals, what Modi did was a great gesture and is indeed a vital booster for all of them.

Later, when Modi asked to light candles or diyas or torches in solidarity, this once again was received pretty well by some section of people and infect, some have taken it as personal enlightenment and labelled as spiritual proceedings in kicking out the virus from the country. The Diya Jalao campaign also had his ardent followers, old people and the majority of the citizens believing in the sentiment of 9 number and how lighting diyas will make the temperature hotter, thus killing the virus.

The latest Indian Army forces showering petal on hospitals on all corona warriors frontliners was called the greatest gesture and this is how Modi is giving strength to fight the coronavirus. Many praises came in that Modi is bringing to light on how doctors are doing commendable work and it is his way of conveying best wishes.

The criticism and flak on Modi’s decisions in lockdown:

Right from clapping hands to lighting diyas, people poured in sarcastic opinions like clapping won’t kill virus and Indians are going insane in doing frivolous acts ordered by Modi. People slammed at Modi that what we need in this crucial period is actual action and, not futile solidarity movements.

The latest Indian Army conducting flypast over hospitals and showering rose petals were also pointed out on how the government is wasting money and time instead of providing better quality PPEs, testing kits and protective gears for the doctors.

Some claimed that doctors never asked for showering petals on them but they have explicitly asked for betterment in the equipment of the treatment. Anti Modi has also labelled the whole act as a big-time show-off and it is unnecessary when the pandemic is still there.

The claims came in that the amount spent today on fly jets should have been used for needy who are dying out of starvation in lockdown. The trolls on Modi and his government went on extremes with calling flypast, thali bajao, diya chalao are nothing but sheer nonsense.
