Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad on Saturday has become the most discussed among the TRS cadre in Telangana, ahead of the GHMC polls.
Modi would land at Hakimpet Air Force station and head to Bharat Biotech’s facility at Genome Valley, around 50 km from Hyderabad, in the evening. The Covid vaccine being manufactured by Bharat Biotech, Covaxin, is in the phase-3 trials. The PM will fly back to Delhi in the evening after his hour-long visit to the facility.
Incidentally, TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is also scheduled to address a public meeting at LB Stadium on Saturday evening in view of the fast approaching GHMC polls. Roughly, the PM’s visit to Bharat Biotech and CM’s public meeting are scheduled at the same time.
In such a situation, there is talk that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao might not go to the airport to welcome the Prime Minister.
According to the protocol, the Governor and the Chief Minister should go to the airport and accord a warm welcome to the Prime Minister but there are doubts over KCR welcoming Modi in view of his public meeting.
Meanwhile, the TRS leaders are saying that Modi’s programme has been planned in a hurried manner to divert people’s attention from the CM’s public meeting.
