The liquor sales in Telangana have touched an all-time record and this is estimated to be due to the Greater Hyderabad elections. The liquor sales revenue posted in the month of November is Rs 2567.14 crore and the Excise Officials were stunned with massive jump in the numbers. This is said to be the highest revenue after the separate statehood was achieved.
The officials said that generally on an average the revenues through liquor sales would be Rs 1700 crore every month. But November month has posted an additional Rs 800 crore revenue. Especially on November 26th, 27th and 28th dates, the sales posted are Rs 229.26 crore, Rs 346.69 crore and 284.48 crore respectively. The total revenue in these three days is Rs 860 crore which is equal to one-third of the revenues.
31,60,135 cases of liquor have been sold in this month while 10 Lakh cases sales happened in the above mentioned dates and 23,85,597 cases of beers reached the wine shops from the depot.
The Excise officials expect yet another huge sale on December 4th as the results of GHMC would be out.
