The fourth day of AP Assembly’s winter session too witnessed ruckus as the ruling party MLAs and opposition MLAs indulged in a slug fest. The house was discussing the government’s public welfare schemes and this turned into a havoc as the MLAs of both parties made allegations against one another. When TDP MLA Nimmala Ramanaidu raised concerns and tried to put the government in a tight spot over the SC,ST, BC women pensions through YSR Cheyutha, the debate turned messy. It led to a war of words.
Speaking in the house, Ramanaidu alleged that YS Jagan had promised to provide Rs 3000 as monthly pension to all the SC, ST and BC women above 45 years of age and said that this promise had brought 151 seats to YSRCP. Ramanaidu accused the YS Jagan government of only paying Rs 18,500 per annum and thus every beneficiary is losing Rs 17,500 pension per annum. These comments of Ramanaidu had invoked serious reactions from YSRCP MLAs. None other than CM YS Jagan had stood up and breathed fire over Ramanaidu.
Calling him “Dramanaidu”, CM Jagan alleged Ramanaidu of lying blatantly in the house. CM Jagan stated that he is moving Privilege Motion against Ramanaidu and referred the same to the Speaker. He stated that liars like Ramanaiadu have no right to speak in the house and urged the Speaker to not give a chance to MLA Ramanaidu. CM Jagan stated that his government is providing a pension of Rs 2250 whereas Chandrababu government used to pay meager Rs 1000 for four years and 10 months and only increased pension to Rs 2,000 just two months before the elections.
Meanwhile, Speaker Tammineni Seetharam announced that CM Jagan’s ‘Dramanaidu’ comments would be removed from the records.
