With the poor show of the Congress in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committeee chief Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced his resignation. Uttam is going to send his resignation to the AICC. Uttam announced that he is deeply pained by the results of the GHMC poll and he is taking moral responsibility over the party’s loss. Uttam has decided to not continue as the party chief in the wake of severe backlash against the Congress party’s performance under his leadership. Even in Dubbak, Congress slipped to third spot.
Uttam has called a computer operator from Gandhi Bhavan to his house and he is busy preparing his resignation letter to the AICC. However, this is not first time Uttam wanted to resign to TPCC post. Earlier when Congress lost in Huzurnagar, Uttam had wanted to quit the TPCC post. But Congress central leadership had asked Uttam to continue. But the latest decision of Uttam may remain unchanged.
Already, Congress party is on a losing spree at national level and undergoing leadership crisis. Uttam’s resignation may come in handy for BJP as more T-Congress leaders are expected to joing BJP in the coming days.
