Prime Minister Narendra Modi is undoubtedly one of the busiest political leaders in the world. But, he still spares time to interact with the public through his social media handles. He often posts his views through official Instagram and X accounts where he commands millions of followers.
Because of his popularity and massive reach, his posts tend to go viral and become a topic of discussion in the media. One such recent post on his Instagram handle is now the talking point all over the country.
Delhi based social media content creator Yuvraj Dua made a humorous appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help reduce his father’s sugar consumption through an an Instagram reel captioned ‘Sugar kam karwa do Papa ki’ (Please reduce my father’s sugar consumption).
In the brief video laced with lighthearted wit, the influencer explained that his father is an ardent admirer of Modi and treats his words as “orders” to follow. He earnestly suggested that if the PM requested, his father might finally curb sugar intake and adopt healthy eating habits.
The influencer further urged the PM to talk about reducing sugar consumption in his radio programme Mann ki Baat and motivate the people of the country towards healthy living. “Our words are not making him stop eating jalebi,” Dua remarked, suggesting that the Prime Minister’s advice would feel like an “instruction” to his father.
Much to the surprise of the influencer and other social media users Modi responded on the request. Sharing the reel on his Instagram story, Modi wrote: “On Yuvraj’s request, I urge his father (and everyone else out there) to reduce sugar intake… be healthy, be happy.” In another post, he warned that excessive sugar can lead to several health problems, including obesity, and encouraged people to practise yoga everyday.
Responding to Modi’s unexpected reply, Dua said, “Surreal sa hogaya yeh toh (This has become surreal). Kahan pohonch gayi video would never have thought (I never imagined the video would reach such heights).” He later sent a direct message to his father as well: “Now even Modi ji has said. Please accept it, papa.”
Modi appreciable response coupled with an important health advice is now going viral all over in the digital media and the social media.
