Streamline Registration Process On Priority: Hyd Builders

Published by

The Hyderabad West Zone builders demanded that the registration of non-agricultural properties in the state should restart immediately in the old procedure, as directed by the Telangana High Court.  They also demanded that the number of registrations be increased from 24 to 200 a day.

Registration of non-agriculture properties – including lands, apartments, commercial complexes- have come to a halt 90 days ago following the Telangana government’s decision to take make all land registrations online through the Dharani portal. However, the owners of non-agriculture lands raised objection and moved the court expressing doubts over the security and safety of the information provided by them to the government.

Subsequently, the Telangana High Court asked the government to switch back to the old procedure of registration but it led to some confusion among the owners and registration of immovable assets has come to a halt.

With all registration transactions coming to a halt for the last three months, the West Zone Builders Association made a representation to Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi and MLC Naveen Rao on Tuesday seeking redressal of their grievances.

The builders lamented that they were suffering a lot due to the stopping of registrations and also sought some changes in technical aspects like provision of water, permissions and fire certificates. All the grievances would be taken to the notice of the sub-committee and discussed thoroughly to resolve the problems.

The MLA said that the West Zone Builder Association made a representation to him and MLC Naveen Rao and promised to take their issues to the notice of the Cabinet sub-committee constituted for the purpose.

The builders said that they were not against new system of registration but expressed concern that the online registration was not working as the computer systems and servers were not working properly. “The government told the High Court that they would go back to the old procedure of registration but in reality, it is not being done. Even after 90 days of break to the registration procedure, we still are not able to restart our work properly.  We want the number of registrations to be upgraded. Just a mere 24 registrations per day will not serve the purpose as against the 200 registrations which used to be done earlier.”

They lamented that they were being forced to take to the roads despite investing huge amount of money in the realty sector. “As it is, registration of property would take hours and with the registrations being held up for the last three months, there are lakhs of documents to be cleared. We demanded that the registration procedure,” they said, adding that the West Zone generates highest revenue in the entire city through registrations.

The builders said that they want the government to go back to the old procedure at least till the policy issues were resolved. They contended that they were generating income to both the state and central governments by building apartment complexes but that the officials were neglecting their issues.
