Exactly a year ago i.e, on December 17th, 2019, AP CM YS Jagan categorically hinted that AP might have three capitals taking queue from South Africa. “Decentralisation of power should be done. Who knows Kurnool may become Judicial Capital, Vizag may become Executive Capital and Amaravati may be the Legislature Capital,” said Jagan categorically in the AP Assembly.
This announcement stunned the Amaravati farmers and from the same day, they started their agitation against the ‘Three Capitals.’ Today marks the 365 days of Amaravati farmers protest and yet there is no justice met to them as Jagan led YSRCP government is in no mood to go back on its ‘Three Capitals.’
During the course of this one year, Amaravati Joint Action Committee (JAC) was formed and under this name, they are fighting with the AP government in courts. As today marks the one year, the Amaravati JAC has decided to host a big public meeting with 30,000 farmers and people.
All the major political parties in AP have extended their full support to Amaravati JAC’s public meeting and so there garnered a huge importance to this event and political experts are closely watching it.
If the public meeting becomes a success, it will be a tough time for the YCP government in the coming days.
