Nimmagadda Files Contempt Case Against Jagan Govt

Published by

The on-going rift between AP CM Jagan led YCP government and AP State Election Commission (SEC) has reached its peak. On Friday, the SEC has lodged a contempt case with the High Court against the AP state government.

“Election Commission is a constitutional body. Yet the AP government is least bothered about us. Despite the court orders, the state government is not in a mood to hold the local body elections,” stated Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar in his petition.

Adding, this act of AP government falls under contempt of court and urged the court to give directives to the state government to hold the elections.

While on Thursday, the SEC has filed one more petition in counter to the AP government’s petition which sought to dismiss the local polls. All the petitions related to this row, might come for hearing next week.

APSEC is hell bent to conduct the local body polls in February next year but the Jagan government is against this.
