Liquor shops to open from tomorrow, KCR gives strict Warning

KCR announced the opening of liquor shops in Telangana state, calling it inevitable at this moment. Speaking the statistics out, KCR said that the four states sharing the border of Telangana opened the liquor stores and this leads to smuggling and seconds sale in the state if not opened here.

So, also to avoid the agitation and protest from local breweries and licensed wine stores in Telangana state, KCR said the cabinet decided to open the stores but with conditions. The CM revealed that they decided to hike the price with an average 16 percent, while it is 11 percent on low priced liquor. The CM frankly says that the rich will be paying more and the poor will be paying less, but it will never be as high as 70 percent tax like in other states.

There are around 2200 wine shops in Telangana and except 15 stores in containment zones, all will be opened from 10 am tomorrow. KCR stressed once again that bars, pubs, and clubs remain closed.

KCR issued a strict warning in his live press meet to the wine shop owners and also costumers, to maintain physical distancing. Those who do not abide by the rules of COVID-19, KCR warned of dire consequences along with canceling the license of wine shops.

The Telangana CM asked the media to record and click pictures at wine shops and said he will watch it all tomorrow and if he finds any negligence in following the rules, the action will be taken instantly.

Well, finally, KCR also warned the costumers at wine shops to use masks and said, there will be no liquor sold for those not using masks. He also asked the public to use masks while visiting grocery stores.
