The on-going battle between the YSRCP government and AP State Election Commission (SEC) over the local body polls is witnessing many twists and turns. This issue is at the AP High Court and last week the SEC has lodged a petition urging the court to give orders to the AP government.
Taking up this petition, the High Court has made key suggestions to the YCP government. Informing the state government that SEC will take a decision on the local body polls, the court suggested the government to cooperate with the SEC and a three member officials should meet the SEC to discuss about the local body elections. The court also asked to submit the details of meeting between SEC and AP government officials. It said the final decision on the polls will be taken on December 29th.
As there is six days time we have to see whether the Jagan government will send any representatives to meet the SEC. Going by the mood of YCP government, it looks unlikely but then these are High Court’s directives and can’t be taken seriously.
Meanwhile, the State Election Commissioner has informed the High Court that it will consider Corona Vaccine distribution if the schedule is released by the Centre.
