Modi Govt Gets Worst Economic Rating In Economy

Published by

The latest IANS-CVoter Budget Tracker claims that the Modi government has been getting the least favourable outcome, or just say, the worst numbers on the economic front, ever since it came to power in 2014 till 2020. The high nose superlative complexities on Modi being a political and social vision with no unique economic vision has always been debated among the public.

It is been declared that more than 46.4 per cent people claimed that the functionality by the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, especially on the economic front failed to reach expectations so far. However, 31.7 per cent said the performance is so far satisfactory.

The vital point to be observed here is, ever since 2010, there has been no government that scored this worst in the economic front like Modi’s. The only negatively exceptional case was that of Ex-PM Manmohan Singh and then Finance Minister Chidambaram’s tenure in 2013 with 60 per cent respondents said the delivery on the economic front was worse than expected.

Besides Modi government’s economy performed decently well until demonetization, the best economic approval ratings came in 2017 when Arun Jaitley was Finance Minister with 52.6 per cent approval towards thinking in an optimistic way. The fieldwork for the survey was done in the third-fourth week of January 2021 with the theme of the survey – “Expectations from the Union Budget”.

On the public’s point of view, implementation of demonetization and GST has more flaws than actual benefit both for the state and central government . These are the two major mistakes of Modi’s govt that kept the economy declining year after year. Nearly 3/4th respondents said that ever since Modi became Prime Minister, inflation has been unchecked and prices kept skyrocketing, as per the IANS-CVoter Budget Tracker.
