#Budget2021: Boost To Health Industry

Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2021-22 today. For the first time in the history of India, the budget is being introduced without the use of paper. The minister is presenting the budget via a tablet computer to deliver a paperless budget. Interestingly, the minister has given a big boost to the Health Industry. Since everyone is eager to know how budget shapes up, in the view of the pandemic, the minister has come up with interesting announcements.

The overall health spend rises by a whopping 137 percent to 2.24 lakh crore rupees. With this, the government wants to make sure the health industry gets enough funds to meet any unexpected calamities. Also, the government has introduced Pradhan Mantri Aatmanirbhar Swastha Bharat Yojana with an outlay of Rs.64,000 crore rupees.

The finance minister also gave importance to Nutrition in the budget. Poshan 2.0 is launched to boost nutrition. Also, Rs. 35,000 crore rupees is allocated for the vaccination in the country. Over 2000 crore rupees will be invested in reducing air pollution.

The government is also planning to roll out ‘Made in India’ pneumococcal vaccine across the nation.
