No Time Frame For Vizag Railway Zone: Centre

Published by

Just before the 2019 general elections, the BJP government in New Delhi has announced the Vizag Railway Zone which is part of the AP Bifurcation Act. Of course the people of AP knew that this was an election stunt and to turn it into a reality would take longer than expected. It’s been two years now and the railway zone is yet to move an inch.

BJP Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao has raised the matter of Railway zone in Parliament today. To this union minister Piyush Goyal made some interesting comments. “We can’t keep a time bound for establishing the railway zone. For setting up the zone, we have appointed an OSD range officer and we are awaiting for the final Detailed Project Report (DPR) and then it should be considered,” said Piyush.

The union railway minister also made it clear that the Centre has no intentions of pushing Vizag railway zone to Andhra division.

These comments hint that the BJP government would delay another three years of time and by 2024 general elections it would lay another step towards the railway zone.

This is pure step motherly treatment by BJP towards AP.
