TDP’s senior leader, former minister and Vizag North MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao has resigned to his MLA post. He has submitted the resignation in the designated format and sent the resignation to AP Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram.
While Ganta had been inactive in TDP from longtime, there had been rumours that he would jump to YSRCP. However, Ganta had somehow dropped his plans to join the ruling YCP back then.
Later, there had been speculations that he would lead the Kapu community by starting Uttarandhra Kapu Force. Even it didn’t turn out true. For the past two years, Ganta’s resignation to MLA post and TDP membership had been in discussion.
Finally, Ganta has resigned to the MLA post. And the reason for his resignation is a bit shocking. Ganta said he is tendering his resignation to MLA post in protest to the privatization of Vizag Steel.
Ganta demanded other leaders in the state – cutting across the political parties – to support the cause. This reason for resignation to MLA post turned interesting. This is triggering several political reactions.
TDP chief and state Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu is also baffled with Ganta’s sudden resignation. Now, all eyes are on Ganta’s future course of action.
