TRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao spit venom against the Opposition leaders. “The T-Congress and T-BJP leaders should remember that you are surviving only because of KCR. Had not KCR taken up the separate Telangana agitation, from where would have your positions emerged? You should recognise that your existence is ‘KCR bhiksha’.
KTR was addressing a meeting on the occasion TRS membership drive at Sircilla. He fumed at the Opposition leaders for not giving any respect to KCR for making separate Telangana a reality. He reminded that the TRS had won in 32 zilla parishads, 128 municipalities while the Opposition party had just won in the last couple of elections.
“You opened your eyes recently but are going overboard. Our patience has a limit and we know how to drive you away at the right time,” he said.
The TRS has a history of having made even the Chief Ministers take to their heels. We will not leave even the Prime Minister and Union ministers, if the need arises, he asserted.
There is talk that KTR is readying to fight with Modi against the injustice done to Telangana with regard to release of funds to the state but his father and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been trying to convince him to remain calm and not be aggressive against both Modi and Shah, especially after the Dubbak fiasco and setback suffered in GHMC polls.
“Do not consider our patience as inefficiency. Had not Telangana been carved out, the Congress and BJP leaders of this region would have been standing before the Andhra leaders with their hands folded and would have been ill-treated,” he said.
KTR questioned the Opposition leaders if they had come forward to quit their posts during the Telangana agitation. “It was KCR who stood as the ray of hope in the darkness and is it fair to abuse such a person now. Are you able to recognise facts and accept them,” he asked.
The Union ministers visiting the state are praising the welfare schemes being implemented in Telangana but the fools representing the people here are not able to understand the fact, he lamented. The Centre could not think of a scheme like Rythu Bandhu unless KCR introduced it three years ago, he pointed out.
He called upon the TRS activists to they were enjoying their position due to KCR and ensure that all the youth join the party, considering it as their own organisation. He also asked the party activists to create awareness among the people that some forces were trying to divide people basing on caste and religion and try to be away from such people.
KTR said that the TRS would give membership cards to all the active members and urged the functionaries to encourage more people to get registered into the party.
He said that a political party’s strength lies in the activists representing it at the grass roots-level and their efforts in strengthening and fortifying it.
