The Corona virus lockdown all over the country will come to an end in another four days i.e, on April 14th. Yet the Corona positive cases are not slowing down in the country. Keeping this in mind several states have urged the Centre to extend the lockdown but the Centre is yet to take any decision.
Even before the Centre could take a decision, the state of Odisha has decided to go ahead with lockdown till April 30th. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik addressed the state a few minutes ago and announced the lockdown extension. He added that his government is in inevitable situation to prolong the lockdown. Naveen took this decision after holding a cabinet meet and took the opinion of his colleagues. Thus Odisha became the first state to extend the lockdown.
As per the Odisha government’s decision, the education institutes will continue to be shut till June 17th and on the tenth and other examinations, they would take a call depending upon the situation.
Also the Odisha CM urged the Centre do the same regarding lockdown and requested not to allow train and flight services to resume until April 30th.
With Odisha taking a decision on lockdown, we may not be surprised if other states to follow the same. Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana are considering the same while Telangana CM KCR has already revealed his opinion on it.
