TDP supremo and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu said that Y.S. Sharmila became helpless after her brother and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy cheated her by denying her rightful share in family assets as well as political positions.
He was campaigning for the municipal polls in Kurnool and said that Jagan was a coward. He threw down the gauntlet to Jagan, to conduct the local body elections in a democratic manner. He fumed at Jagan for resorting to violence and threatening the candidates belonging to opposition parties, in a bid to prevent them from contesting the elections.
He said that Jagan should provide answers to all his criticism, if he has the guts. People know the real culprit behind the murder of Jagan’s uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, Naidu said.
There is talk among the political circles that Sharmila’s plans to launch her own political party following differences with her brother Jagan had given a good opportunity for the TDP to counter Jagan’s criticism against Chandrababu Naidu on backstabbing his father-in-law. The yellow party functionaries said that Jagan is a mean person than Naidu as he had betrayed his sibling.
During the road show, Naidu reached the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyana Mandapam and then proceeded to the old bus station, Gosha Hospital, State Bank, STBC College, Five Road Junction, Mourya Inn, Idgah, new bus station and addressed the public. He listed out the various welfare programmes the TDP would take up if voted to power in the local body elections and urged them to think properly before exercising their franchise.
