The controversy surrounding Telangana tourism brand ambassador has taken many twists and turns. On the eve of International Women’s Day, the tourism chairman has appointed YouTube star ‘Dhethadi’ Harika who shot to fame with the Bigg Boss reality show as brand ambassador.
But the next day, the Telangana CM’s office pulled up the tourism chairman for appointing brand ambassador without the consent of the CM’s office and also the tourism minister. Then reports came out that Harika is removed as brand ambassador but there is a clarity lacking and still a huge confusion surrounding it.
Reacting for the first time on this controversy, Telangana tourism minister Srinivas Goud said he has no clue who Harika is. “No information was given to CM’s office or to the higher officials while making the appointment. I absolutely don’t know who is Harika. I’m currently busy with MLC elections and once I’m done with this, I will initiate a departmental probe and take an action appropriately,” said minister Srinivas Goud.
Meanwhile fans of Harika are deeply hurt and they are openly expressing their anguish on social media. They recalled the times when Sania Mirza was appointed Telangana brand ambassador and a bomb was paid to her for endorsing the state.
