Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan has demanded the state government to convene AP Assembly and pass a resolution against the privatisation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), the move by the Centre. Pawan asked the government to specially convene Assembly to save the Vizag Steel Plant.
Amidst the agitation of employees of Vizag Steel Plant, YSRCP bagged the Corporation. Pawan noted that the party has 151 MLAs and 22 MPs in its fold and hence asked the party to be more responsible towards people. He asked them to take a move forward against the privatisation of the VSP. He said it is necessary to convene the Assembly and speak on the issues of Vizag Steel Plant employees and also about the farmers in the region who till date have not received their due compensation for offering their lands. Pawan said Janasena has no MPs to fight against the Centre in Delhi and he has asked the YSRCP to take the initiative.
Meanwhile, Pawan talked about the municipal election results. He noted that the ruling YCP has secured 32.5 percent votes whereas the rest of Opposition parties have shared the balance percentage while 35 percent of people refrained from voting. He said that Janasena is not witnessing the Municipal Poll results as YCP’s victory. He alleged that the election was dominated by money, muscle and abuse of power. He said that Janasena Party has contested in 184 divisions out of 544 divisions in Corporations and secured 14.86 percent votes. He said out of 1357 wards in Municipalities, Janasena contested in 239 wards and garnered 13.48 percent votes. Pawan opined that had the EC issued a new notification for polls, the results would have been different.
