Theatres Will Not Be Shut Down In Telangana: Minister issues clarity

We already brought to the readers’ notice about the rumors on the closure of cinema theatres in Telangana state. However, the government has officially issued a clarification on the same, citing that they are not in a mood to shut down the state’s theatres. Telangana state cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav affirmed that the state’s theatres would function with the existing COVID protocols.

To put a check on the rumors, minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav released a video on social media where he explained that the government would not shut down the film theatres.

“Telugu film industry experienced huge losses due to pandemic. Poor cinema workers struggled a lot during the lockdown. There are rumors that the theatres will be shut down. I am here to clarify the same. The government did not take any decision on it. The theatres will function as usual with all the guidelines. I request everyone not to worry.” said the cinematography minister.

The clarification comes as a big relief to the film industry. A lot of films are scheduled for a grand release every week. If the theatres are closed, it will have a huge impact on the business and thousands of cinema workers’ lives.

Rana’s Aranya, Nithiin’s Rang De, and Keeravani’s son Simha’s Tellavarithe Guruvaram will hit the screens this week.
