Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao made sensational comments about how the conditions reversed in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking in the Assembly, KCR said that the demand for land in Telangana has increased. At one time, 3 acres of land could be bought in Telangana selling one acre of land in Andhra Pradesh but now, the scene has reversed. Two acres of land can be bought in Andhra Pradesh selling one acre in Telangana, he said.
These comments apparently hinted at the improved irrigation facilities in Telangana, under the TRS rule in the last seven years. Having completed the Kaleshwaram LI project which is aimed at providing irrigation to 36 lakh acres, KCR has been riding high on the claims that agricultural yield has also shot up.
KCR’s comments also hint at how economic conditions in Andhra Pradesh have worsened in the recent past. In Andhra Pradesh, the real estate sector has taken a beating following the confusion over the capital issue. Construction activity and allied businesses saw a downward graph due to Corona and sand crisis in the state.
This apart, economists have been saying that Andhra Pradesh is into heavy debts, in the wake of numerous welfare schemes being implemented in the state.
It is being said that businessmen are thinking twice to invest in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of the uncertain conditions prevailing under the YCP rule.
Political analysts are of the opinion that KCR comments have more than meets the eye.
KCR also made it clear that Telangana would not compromise regarding sharing of water with Andhra Pradesh.
