Mukesh Ambani led Reliance group of Industries has donated Rs 5 Crore to Andhra Pradesh government to help combat the deadly COVID-19. The leading multinational conglomerate has already donated more than 500 Cr to PM CARES fund, besides 5 Cr each to Gujarat and Maharashtra state governments.
Reliance group also paid an attention to Andhra and came forward to donate Rs 5 Cr for state CM Relief Fund last week. The CMO, has on Tuesday, acknowledged the Reliance group’s donation as ‘valuable’ and issued an online transfer receipt.
The fund is likely to help thousands of people who are devastated by nationwide lockdown. Ties between Mukesh Ambani and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy began to grow after the latter nominated senior group president of Reliance, Parimal Nathwani, to Rajya Sabha recently.
Many other companies are utilising their CSR funds through this way. Besides Reliance group, Sea Foods Exports Association of India donated a cheque of Rs 8.60 Cr to CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and Adani group has transferred Rs 2 Cr as an aid to CMRF.
