TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh had campaigned non-stop in Tirupati for the by-election and returned to Amaravati on Thursday evening. After reaching Lokesh paid homage to former minister Narasimha Rao who passed away recently and met their family members.
Post this meeting, the media confronted Lokesh and asked him about the prospects of TDP in Tirupati by-election. Confidently Lokesh said that TDP will win the election with a huge majority and this election is crucial for the ‘Special Status’ matter to AP.
“Let YCP’s 21 and our three MPs resign and also the Rajya Sabha members. Then a pressure on the Centre over ‘Special Status’ will build. But that’s not happening. In AP, the YCP government makes tall claims but in Delhi, their MPs don’t even raise the issue. How come YCP Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Chandrabose is campaigning in Pondicherry (Puducherry) for the Assembly elections where BJP has promised Special Status and even included in it their manifesto? Did Jagan give permission for the YCP MP?” questioned Lokesh.
During then Sakshi media reporter was right in front of Lokesh and he said, “Sir your Telugu speaking skills have improved a lot.” Lokesh received the compliment but then replied to the reporter with his full wit.
“Don’t praise me, you might lose your job,” said Lokesh on a lighter note. Leaders who were next to Lokesh had a laugh and then everyone left.
