With alarming situations in the country over the second wave and logistics issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been holding high level meetings continuously. On Friday, PM Modi called for a virtual meeting with CMs of the states that are most affected by the second wave.
During this, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal live streamed the high level meeting of the PM with CMs. Speaking, Kejriwal said, “If the Centre has any national policy/plan to tackle the second wave, many states are ready to strengthen it.” Learning that the inhouse meeting is being live streamed, PM Modi intervened.
“A CM is live streaming the in-house meeting which should be confidential and the protocols are not being followed. This is not appropriate and such things should be taken under control,” said Modi.
However, Kejriwal said, ‘Ok sir, we will be careful in future.’ before continuing to what he is speaking. The Chief Minister’s office later put out a statement: “Today, the Chief Minister’s address was shared live because there has never been any instruction, written or verbal, from the central government that the said interaction could not be shared live. There have been multiple occasions of similar interactions where matters of public importance which had no confidential information were shared live. However, if any inconvenience was caused we highly regret that.”
