All over the country the third drive of Covid-19 vaccination commenced on Friday. But almost all the states across the country are facing a shortage of vaccines and states like Telangana have suspended vaccination drives on the weekend. Amidst this short supply, in a breather lands Russia’s vaccine Sputnik-V at Hyderabad airport.
“As Russia and India continue dedicated joint efforts to combat the #COVID19, this move is especially important to support the Indian Government’s endeavors to mitigate the deadly second wave and save lives,” commented Russian Ambassador to India, Nikolay Kudashev.
This is the first batch of vaccine comprising 1.5 Lakh doses and later in the month, another 30 Lakh doses are expected to arrive. Hyderabad based pharma Dr. Reddy’s Lab has partnered with Sputnik-V and they will be administering the vaccines in India.
But at what price Dr. Reddy’s will be supplying the vaccine is yet to be known. Considering the outrage over prices, Dr. Reddy’s might keep the vaccine price low as much as it can
