With a superb victory in the just concluded Assembly elections, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee was sworn-in as West Bengal chief minister for the third straight term. The swearing in ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan and was administered the oath by the Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Mamata Banerjee on the occasion. “Congratulations to Mamata Didi on taking oath as West Bengal’s Chief Minister. @MamataOfficial,” tweeted PM Modi.
Post the swearing in ceremony, Bengal Governor Jagdeep asked CM Mamata to look into the violence post the election results were declared.
However having lost from Nandigram, Mamata will have to get elected to the assembly within six months of assuming office.
