TDP MLA and politburo member Nimmala Rama Naidu blamed Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for not readying an action plan to tackle the Covid crisis even when people died in large numbers during the first wave. He had neglected the rising number of Covid cases in the state and instead, focused on foisting cases against the TDP leaders, he said.
Speaking to newspersons on Tuesday, the TDP politburo member said that the commission taken by Jagan for one day would suffice to buy vaccine for the entire population in Andhra Pradesh. His earnings through illegal means can save lakhs of Covid patients, he said.
The TDP leader said that it would have been better had Jagan given thought to public health than to hatching conspiracies to arrest the TDP men.
Jagan should understand that it was the state governments and officials who were involved in distributing the vaccines to the people but not the opposition leaders in those states, he pointed out.
The TDP politburo member made the above comments in the wake of YCP leaders asking the Opposition leader and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu to write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to provide adequate number of vaccine doses to Andhra Pradesh than sit idle in his Hyderabad bungalow.
