Published by

There is no respite for the common man in the pandemic. Crore of people have lost their jobs due to the lockdown and downward trend of the economy and just when the people are struggling to make ends meet, the fuel price is burning their pockets leaving them in huge debts.

Until the Assembly elections in five states, the petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged for over a month. And since the election results, the fuel prices have been hiked by 15 times. In Andhra Pradesh, the petrol price has touched Rs 100 for the first time ever.

In prominent cities like Guntur and Vijayawada, the petrol prices are at Rs 100.15 and Rs 100.11 respectively. The price variation is due to the transport and commission charges.

In Hyderabad, the petrol price as of Saturday is Rs 97.63 up by 27 paisa from May 27th.

And in the top cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata, the petrol prices are Rs 100.19, Rs 95.51, Rs 97.07 and Rs 93.97 respectively.

In the coming days, the petrol prices would continue to go up leading to the upward trend of essential prices too. If history is looked at the hiked fuel prices have never come down at least by a margin of Rs 5.
