The loose talk of YSR Congress men landed them in trouble. Taking serious note of the contemptuous remarks made against the High Court and the judges on social media, the Andhra Pradesh HC served notices to 49 people, including an MP of the ruling YSRC party and a former MLA.
Prominent among those served notices included YSRC Bapatla MP Nandigama Suresh and former MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan. With the High Court admonishing the ruling YSRC party in several cases like taking objection to YSRC party colours painted on the panchayat buildings and revoking the suspenson of senior IPS office A.B. Venkateswara Rao, the YSRC men began making mockery of the courts and the judges on the social media.
The YSRC men also passed abusive remarks against the judges. They even went to the extent of saying that the judges were reading out scripts handed over to them by the Opposition Telugu Desam party and attributing ulterior motives to the judgements delivered in connection with various cases. MP Suresh, while addressing the media from the YSRC office at Tadepalli, also demanded that the call list of the TD chief and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu should be investigated, alleging that he knew about the judgement to be pronounced by the HC judge, 10 minutes before itself, in connection with a case.
Suresh and Krishna Mohan reportedly made insulting remarks against the High Court in front of the media. Taking serious objection to the remarks made by the YSRC men in front of the media and on social media, an advocate, Lakshmi Narayana, wrote a letter to the High Court. Taking the letter as suo motu, the High Court served the notices. The advocate said that he wrote the letter unable to tolerate political motives being attributed to the court.
The court also said that the posts on the social media included abusive, life threatening, and intimidating words against Hon’ble Supreme Court judges, High Court judges. One of the posts even warned that all the total number of judges in the High Court would be cut into pieces. One other post termed all the HC judges as “bastards” and fit for nothing except sleeping with their wives. All these posts came on to the social media between May 22 and May 24, 2020.
The advocate in his PIL said that all these intimidating posts on social media reflect a conspiracy against the Hon’ble Court and the Judges.
