The Telangana government has cancelled the Class 12 board exams in view of the Covid-19 second wave. Post the cabinet meeting, the decision was expected but it did not happen and so many thought the government is still keeping its options open to conduct the exams. However, in a surprise, the announcement of cancellation was made this morning.
But a discussion on holding the Class 12 exams happened in the cabinet. Ministers and education officials informed CM KCR that many states and even the CBSE board have cancelled the exams. The cabinet opined that holding exams might lead to the spread of virus and it’s better to call off the exams.
Taking the inputs of ministers and officials, CM KCR has decided to cancel the Class 12 Exams. Regarding the valuation of students’ merit, the government will be issuing guidelines later in the day.
Earlier the Telangana government has cancelled the Class 10 and Intermediate first year exams.
Meanwhile Andhra Pradesh government is yet to take call on Class 12 Exams. The other day education minister A Suresh said that the government will take appropriate decision very soon.
