Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been sporting a long beard. In media and political circles, Modi’s long beard is always a big debate. A few days back, Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and P Chidambaram have made satirical comments on Modi’s beard that it’s length is longer than the country’s GDP.
And in an uncanny gesture, a tea vendor from Maharashtra has sent Rs 100 to PM Modi asking the latter to shave the beard. Identified as Anil More, he said he did this only to show frustration on the policies the government is taking in view of the Covid-19.
“I am sending Rs 100 from my savings to him so that he shaves his beard. I don’t intend to hurt him but if he should increase something, it must be employment opportunities for the people of this country. The problems of the poor are growing with each day passing due to the pandemic and I thought this is a way to draw his attention,” said Anil.
This news turned into a big sensation and Anil is getting a lot of attention from the media circles.
But the big question is when will Modi sport a clean shave? In all likely not anytime soon!
