After the offices of home, defence and finance ministries conveying that the ministers were busy, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Delhi tour got cancelled on Monday.
However, this morning, Reddy flew to Delhi from Gannavaram airport and was accorded a warm welcome by YCP MPs Vijayasai Reddy and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana. He was accompanied by MPs Mithun Reddy, Balasouri, Avinash Reddy and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.
He is scheduled to meet the Union Ministers Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal and others. His appointment with Union Home Minister Amit Shah had been fixed at 9 this night and this meeting is drawing much political attention in the wake of the next hearing on his bail plea scheduled for June 14, YCP rebel MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju’s arrest and alleged harassment in the CID custody.
Though it is being said that Jagan would discuss sanctioning of funds for the multi-purpose Polavaram project, bifurcation assurances, vaccination and other pending issues, there is no clear information about what he would speak to the ministers.
It is learnt that Reddy would discuss Polavaram project works and other issues relating to the development of the state during the meetings.
At 4 pm, he is scheduled to meet Union Gajendra Singh Shekawat and at 7 pm, he would discuss Visakha Steel Plant with Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan. During his meeting with Shekhawat, Jagan would appeal for finalising the figures of Polavaram project and release of funds for the works yet again.
After meeting Shah, Jagan will stay in Delhi tonight. Tomorrow morning, Jagan is likely to meet railways minister Piyush Goyal and by afternoon, he is scheduled to reach Tadepalli.
Jagan would be very busy with back-to-back meetings with Union ministers.
Jagan’s Delhi tour assumed significance in the wake of the CM seeking financial aid to the state to overcome the Covid crisis.
