The second and final day of Telugu Desam party conclave Mahanadu started off with the cadre paying tributes to TD founder and former chief minister N.T. Rama Rao, on the occasion of his birth anniversary on Thursday. Later, party supremo and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu lit the lamp and took to business.

The annual party meeting adopted a resolution demanding that N.T. Rama Rao be conferred with Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in the country, for spreading the spirit of Telugu pride across the world. Naidu said the party would continue to strive for upholding the self-respect of Telugus across the world. Further, he hailed NTR as not an individual but an organisation.

Naidu called upon the party cadre to carry forward the legacy of the party, even in adversity, with improved self-confidence. He termed the party functionaries as the building blocks of the TDP and said that their welfare was of utmost importance to the party.

He said that challenges were not new to the TDP which is nearing 40 years of existence and reiterated that the TDP will never shirk away from striving for the interests of the Telugus and the poor in the state.

Hindupur MLA and NTR’s son N. Balakrishna said that the party leaders were dedicated to work for the welfare of the public. Party senior leaders Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Gorantla Bucchaiah Chowdary, Ashok Gajapathi Raju also spoke about the selfless services of NTR.
