The second phase of lockdown will come to an end in Telangana today and so the cabinet met this afternoon to decide on the further measures. At 2 PM, the cabinet met at Pragathi Bhavan and it has decided to lift the lockdown completely.
Before taking this decision, the Telangana cabinet sort a report from the state’s health department. The report claimed that the Covid-19 second wave has almost come down and positivity rate has drastically dropped over the past few weeks. After carefully observing the health department’s report, the cabinet unanimously decided to lift the full restrictions in the state.
That’s surprising because the Union government has asked all the states to be vigilant till June 30th. With the latest decision, Telangana is the first state in the country to lift the lockdown and restrictions. But experts believe that the government has taken this decision owing to the financial matters. However, places which are under containment zones would continue with restrictions.
Later this evening the cabinet will be sending orders to all departments regarding lifting of lockdown and from tomorrow all the commercial activities will run as usual.
