Prime Minister Narendra Modi is heading to his second cabinet reshuffle after taking office for the second time. This rejig has many things to be taken note and PM Modi is doing the changes keeping in view of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and also the 2024 general polls.
From the New Delhi and BJP sources we hear that the new Central cabinet will have two dozen OBCs (Other Backward Class) representation and this plan is to involve the smaller communities. There will be more women ministers and those who have administrative experience would be given high preference.
The age factor is also being taken into consideration by PM Modi. Highly placed sources say that the Central Cabinet will have the lowest average age.
Among the aspirants the names being heard are Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sarbananda Sonowal, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP)’s Pashupati Paras, Narayan Rane and Varun Gandhi. All these leaders are already in New Delhi and Amit Shah is said to be calling leaders who are likely to be inducted in the cabinet.
The full capacity of the Union Cabinet is 81 members and currently there are 53 ministers. In all likely 28 ministers are to be added in the latest cabinet reshuffle.
