Ever since the Telangana government sacked former health minister Etela Rajender, the political heat in the state is growing. With Revanth Reddy taking charge as TPCC president, it is clear that Congress is trying to emerge as a strong opposition in the state. Now, YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s daughter YS Sharmila is making her baby steps into Telangana politics with her new political party – YSR Telangana Party.
YS Sharmila began her groundwork a few months ago. She met YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s supporters and sympathizers to understand the ground reality. She is now set to float her political outfit at a grand event in Hyderabad today evening.
The party inauguration meeting is taking place at the JRC Convention center in Hyderabad. The stage is set for Sharmila to take a full-time plunge in politics, in Telangana state. With her limited experience of working with her brother, the current Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sharmila is aiming at bigger goals.
Today’s inauguration event will see Sharmila announcing her party agenda, unveiling her party flag and a theme song. More than 15,000 people are expected to grace the occasion. Because of the pandemic, Sharmila is organizing the event behind closed doors. Sharmila’s mother YS Vijayamma will also be present at the event today.
YS Sharmila already reached Idupulapaya in Kadapa district to pay tributes to her late father. She will reach Hyderabad by afternoon and will head to the venue. Invitations are sent out to all political parties, YSR loyalists, journalists, and others.
From the beginning, Sharmila is stressing to bring ‘Rajanna Rajyam’ in Telangana state. But, we have to see if Sharmila can emerge as a strong political power in Telangana state.
On the other hand, there are reports that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is upset with Sharmila’s decision to float a new political party in Telangana.
