‘Only Venkaiah Naidu Can Save Vizag Steel Plant’

Published by

The other day, the Centre has laid one more big step in privatisation of the Vizag Steel Plant. The Centre has initiated the appointment of legal advisors ensuring that there would be no legal troubles during the privatisation process. Learning about this, Vizag steel plant employees sat down in a protest and have been agitating.

In solidarity to the protesting employees, CPI Narayana has reached Vizag and joined the agitation. Speaking he said, there is absolutely no point in going to the courts against privatisation and if there is only one person who can stop this, he is Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.

“Only Venkaiah Naidu has the power and ability to save the Vizag steel plant going into the hands of private firms. He should open up and oppose this move strongly,” said Narayana. The CPI leader’s comments can be understood that Venkaiah is the senior most in BJP and has strong association with RSS. His inputs would be given a thought by both BJP and RSS.

Narayana criticised Vijayasai Reddy and former Vizag MP Khambhampati Haribabu. “Why is Vijayasai Reddy not questioning the government in Parliament? AP CM YS Jagan also needs to come out. Instead of writing letters which is a waste of time, Jagan should join the agitation of employees,” said Narayana.

Adding, “I’m also surprised that ex-MP Haribabu is maintaining absolute silence on the privatisation row. Before he assumes office as Mizoram Governor, Haribabu should give proper assurance to the protesting employees.”

CPI’s Narayana’s comments are absolutely true that Venkaiah Naidu can stop privatisation but will the Vice President of India intervene in policies of GoI? History says NO.
