Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao made sexist comments against a female government employee and this is drawing a huge criticism on the minister.
Going into details minister Errabelli took part in Palle Pragathi Grama Sabha held in Uppal village of Warangal urban district. A press meet was held then and asking the details of few developmental works, minister Errabelli was enquiring about the Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO).
Learning that the MPDO is a woman, Errabelli said “Nuvvu Aithe Baagane Ooptunnav… Kaani Eeda Oopthalev” and when it was translated he said, “You are shaking it well, but not shaking up at work.”
This comment did not go down well with the concerned MPDO and also the opposition. Congress spokesperson Dasoju Sravan demanded the police to register a case against minister Errabelli under section 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code for his demeaning remarks.
In a statement to the media, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao condemned the video and stated that his political rivals were spreading a fake video.
