The water war between AP and Telangana ignited the differences between TRS and YCP governments. Ministers of the Telugu states are exchanging some heated arguments. The other day AP CM YS Jagan tried to settle the issue by saying that he doesn’t want tiffs with neighbouring states especially on water.
Telangana municipal minister KTR who visited Narayanpet on Saturday opened up on the water dispute. “There is no compromise on the water dispute. Under the leadership of KCR, we shall fight even with God to get the rightful share of water that belongs to Telangana. Every constituency in the district will get Krishna river water.”
KTR also reiterated that the TRS government would complete the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation project which would relieve the farmers of the joint Mahbubnagar district. This is for the first time KTR commented on Krishna water row.
But there is criticism that the TRS government is neglecting Palamuru-Rangareddy project and is not sanctioning sufficient funds for its completion. Having visited Narayanpet district, KTR knew people would be expecting an update on the irrigation project and so he commented accordingly.
KTR’s comments may not go down well with the AP government. We have to see how AP ministers would react.
